A single-cavity mold has only one cavity, so it can only produce one finished part per injection cycle. A single cavity mold is suitable for producing large parts, or for short part runs.
Many single-cavity molds use a two-plate design. If the part can be made with a single injection location and no runners are required, the polymer can be injected directly into the cavity via the sprue.
