Creating gates manually using a modeling plane
Before you can create a gate, you must have created at least one injection location on the model.
Click
(
Geometry tab
>
Feed System panel
>
Gate
).
The
Create gate
dialog appears.
Select an injection location from the
Select
drop-down list.
Tip:
You can also click the relevant injection cone.
If necessary, select the
Display Grid
and/or
Snap to grid
checkbox.
Tip:
Use the
Defaults...
button to change the grid properties.
Select
Define by coordinate
.
If necessary, select an alternative modeling plane from the
Location
drop-down list.
Tip:
Click
Edit
to create an alternative modeling plane.
Use the
ViewCube
to orient the model(s) correctly.
Click on the model pane to define the gate/runner intersection point.
Tip:
You may need to deselect the
Snap to grid
option to click in a more precise location.
Click
Apply
to view the gate.
Make changes to the gate or add new gates, as appropriate.
Click
OK
to save gate(s) and close the dialog.
