The Prohibited Gate Regions dialog is used to set constraints on areas of the part to block a Gate Location analysis from placing injection locations.
Before running a Gate Location analysis, you can set constraints by defining areas of the part where you do not want injection locations. Prohibited Gate Regions works on both algorithms when using the Gate Location analysis. The prohibited regions can be based on part or mold geometry, or where a defect caused by an injection location must be avoided.
As the regions are created, the default name of the new prohibited gate region are added to the list.
The tolerance ranges from 0-89 degrees, with 0 being the lowest amount of tolerance and 89 being the highest amount of tolerance. A low tolerance level selects a more narrow range of curve, resulting in a more precise selection. A high tolerance level selects a broader range of curve, resulting in a broader selection area.
When the Near Side Only check box is cleared, then areas on both the visible and back sides are selected.
