Mold material dialog–Properties Tab

The Properties tab of the Mold material dialog is used to specify the physical properties of the mold material.

To access this dialog, click Search (Tools tab > Databases panel > Search). Select Mold material as the Property type and then click OK. Click the Details button, then click on the Properties tab.

Dialog elements

Mold density
Specifies the mass of a unit volume of the mold.

The values (0:30) indicate the range of acceptable values you can enter.

Mold specific heat
Specifies the quantity of heat required to raise the temperature of one unit mass of the mold by one degree.

The numbers (0:2000) indicate the range of acceptable values you can enter.

Mold thermal conductivity
Specifies the quantity of heat that flows in one second along a unit distance of the mold when the temperature of the faces of the mold differ by one degree.

The numbers (0:1000) indicate the range of acceptable values you can enter.

Mold mechanical properties
Specifies the Tensile Modulus (E) and Poisson's ratio (v) of the mold material.

The numbers (0:3e+006) and (0:1) indicate the range of acceptable values you can enter for Elastic modulus (E) and Poissons ratio (v) respectively.

Mold coefficient of thermal expansion
Predicts the effect of the mold expansion on part quality in a Warp analysis.

The numbers (0:10) indicate the range of acceptable values you can enter.
