To access this dialog, click (), and then select Customize Material List.
About this dialog
This dialog is used to edit the default list of materials available from the current workspace.
Once the workspace is setup to the user's requirements, the workspace can be saved for use on this or any computer on the local network.
Dialog elements
- Material Type
- Displays the type of material available for selection in the dialog.
- System default materials/Selected material list
- Displays the materials that are available in either the default or customized list. These lists can be sorted by clicking on the required column heading.
- Compare
- Allows you to compare the properties of different materials.
If you are accessing this from the Select Materials To Compare With dialog, highlight one or more materials and then click Compare to compare the selected materials with the current study material, as shown in the Study Tasks pane.
If you are accessing this any other way, then highlight two or more materials from the list and then click Compare to compare the selected materials with one another.
- Details
- Displays the properties of the selected material so you can determine if it is appropriate for your analysis.
The properties can only be viewed, and not edited.
Click the Details button, examine the properties, and then click OK.
- Search
- Allows you to edit the search criteria used.
- Columns
- Allows you to control the way data is displayed in the dialog.
The dialog displays data in a tabular format, as described below.
- Each row represents a single property, for example, one thermoplastic material (if you are working with a thermoplastic material database), or one molding machine (if you are working with a molding machine database).
- Each column represents a type of data associated with the property. For example, the following are some of the types of data associated with thermoplastic materials: family name, trade name, manufacturer, mold temperature, specific heat data.
- Add/Remove (All)
- Allows you to add or remove the selected materials to or from the Selected materials list section.
