Duplication dialog

To access this dialog, click Duplicate (Geometry tab > Layout panel > Duplicate).

Note: The available modeling tools depend on the mold type you selected.

Once you have duplicated the part, you can use the Runner System Wizard to connect all the cavities, or model the runner system manually.

Dialog elements

Layout
Choose Radial to arrange the cavities in a circle, or Grid to arrange the cavities in rows or columns.
Grid / Radial Layout
Define the number and spacing of duplicated cavities.
Total entities
Specifies the number of cavities to be created, calculated from the values entered in the Rows (Y) and Cols (X) text box.
Tip: Use the Spacing to: drop-down to define the radius characteristics.

Grid Layout

Sketch grid Layout / Draw
Specify the layout and number of cavities required by the graphical representation of rows and columns.
Rows (Y)
Specify the number of cavities you wish to create in the Y-direction.
Columns (X)
Specify the number of cavities you wish to create in the X-direction.
Row/Column spacing
Specify the space between part cavities in your multi-cavity layout.
Tip: Use the Spacing from: drop-down to define the spacing characteristics.
Spacing From
Specify the position from which the cavity spacing is measured.
Row Major / Column Major
Row Major maintains the injection location on the same side across the row. Column Major maintains the injection location on the same side up and down the column.

Radial Layout

Radius
Specify the distance from the mold center to a particular point on the part.
Measured to
Specify the point on the duplicated model to which the radius is measured.
Number of entities
Specify the number of cavities required in the mold.
Start Angle
Specify the angle from which the models start to be duplicated, relative to the existing model position.

For example, 6 cavities duplicated from 0 through to 180 degrees, will create 5 additional cavities equally spaced from the original model finishing at 180 degrees.

End Angle
Specify the angle at which the last model duplication is created, relative to the existing model position.
