Creating a cooling system using the Cooling Wizard

  1. Ensure the Mold Type is not Part Only.
  2. Click Cooling wizard (Geometry tab > Cooling System panel > Cooling Wizard). The Cooling system wizard dialog appears in the Tools tab.
  3. In the Layout area, click Browse Browse to select a Channel.
  4. Select the Channel type from the drop down list.
  5. Enter the size of the channels in the Diameter (1) text box.
  6. Click OK to apply the changes and close the dialog.
  7. Select the Layout in the drop down list to be either along the X-axis or along the Y-axis.
  8. In the Channel distribution area, you can either:
    • Select Specify number of channels, and enter the number of channels in the text box,
    • Or, select Distance between channels, and enter the amount of space you want to have between the channels in the text box.
  9. Enter the Offset from part's boundary to specify how far away the cooling channels should be from the outer boundary of the part.
  10. Enter the required Hose length.
  11. Click OK.

    One or more new cooling planes are created, offset from the part surface by the distance specified in Offset from part boundary text box. The new cooling planes and the new cooling channels are displayed in the model pane.
