Distance between adjacent cooling channels

The distance between the cooling channels can be decreased to make the mold temperature more uniform.

If, however, the overall mold design only permits larger spacing between the channels, the distance from the cavity to the cooling channels should also increase.

The optimum spacing depends on the diameter of the cooling channel and the thickness of the part. Preferred cooling channel spacing is shown in the following diagram where the diameter of D is 10-14mm, and the spacing, a, is 3D to 5D.
