About this result
The Quality Prediction result indicates this area of the part may be difficult to fill with plastic. This is because the pressure drop is too high at the point you selected, compared to the maximum injection pressure.
The pressure drop is the drop in pressure from the initial injection pressure to the pressure recorded at the moment the part was filled, for the entire model.
The lower the pressure drop values recorded, the more chance the part has of filling completely.
Problems caused by high pressure drop
If the pressure drop is greater than 80 percent of the injection pressure, there may be filling problems, particularly short shots.
What to do
The following options are available to improve the result:
- Increase the maximum injection pressure for this part slightly to compensate for the high pressure drop through the cavity.
- Alter the part geometry; complex and thin geometry can cause filling difficulties which require high injection pressure to complete the filling.
- Alter the processing conditions of the currently selected material by increasing the melt temperature of the current material.
- Select a different material for one with a higher melt flow rate; less injection pressure will be required to fill the part.
- Move the polymer injection location closer to the problem area or add additional injection points to improve the likelihood of all sections of a part filling.
