Running an analysis

  1. Open an existing project, or create a new one.
  2. Open a study, or click Import, Home tab (Home tab > Import panel > Import) and then import a CAD model.
  3. Except when running a Gate Location analysis, click Injection location, Home tab (Home tab > Molding Process Setup panel > Injection Locations) and then click the model to insert an injection point(s).
Note: The Fill Preview option in the Study Tasks pane allows you to review the impact of the injection location on fill pattern and weld lines.
  4. Click Analysis Wizard, Home tab (Home tab > Molding Process Setup panel > Analysis Wizard), and then select an analysis sequence from the list.
  5. Select the Material tab, and then select a material or manufacturer and trade name.
  6. Click Analyze to launch the analysis.

It may take a few moments before the display shows any graphical results. During the process the analysis progress is monitored in the progress bar at the bottom of the screen.

Once the analysis has finished, the Summary pane opens.

Note: When you specify a new analysis sequence, results of a previous analysis may be invalidated. If this occurs, you will be prompted either to Delete the current results before continuing, or to Create Copy to save the new results in a separate study.
CAUTION:
Running a large number of analyses simultaneously requires a large amount of run-time memory, and may cause the analysis to fail.
