Applying a Gate Location analysis result

You can display and apply the results output by a Gate Location analysis so it can be used for a Fill analysis.

Ensure you have performed a Gate Location analysis.

After running a Gate Location analysis, the recommended injection locations are not displayed and the results are not applied to the model by default. To display and accept the injection locations, you need to apply the Gate Location analysis results to the model.
  1. On the Summary pane, click the Gate Location tab. The Gate Location result summary page appears, showing a table that contains a list of the recommended gates' coordinates.
  2. To accept the results and apply it to the model, click Apply all. You can only apply or remove the result produced by a Gate Location analysis as a set. You cannot select and apply or remove injection locations individually.
  3. A dialog appears asking if you want to delete or create a copy of the results.
    • Click Delete to apply the results on the current model.
    • Click Create Copy to duplicate the model and apply the results on the duplicate model.
Tip: By clicking on a coordinate in the table row, the corresponding injection cone is highlighted.
Tip: You can delete all recommended injection location cones and its results by clicking Remove All.
The results from a Gate Location analysis are applied to the model and used as a preliminary input for running a Fill analysis.
Note: Alternatively, you can directly apply the results so it is ready for a Fill analysis by clicking the Click here link or the Perform Fill analysis button. This method does not allow you to preview the injection locations.
Tip: If you find it difficult to see where the gates are placed on the model after running a Gate Location analysis, switch to Glass Model mode in the Study Tasks pane.
