The Crystallization: Final average crystal size result displays the distribution of the average crystal size through the part thickness at a single time instant, after the ejected part has cooled to the ambient temperature.
Even after a part is ejected from the mold, the crystallization process may continue near the core of the part, especially in thicker areas. The crystallization analysis assumes the part cools under ambient conditions after ejection and continues until the predicted part temperature reaches the ambient temperature. The average crystal size in an injection molding application tends to be smaller at the skin and larger at the core. Crystal size influences the predicted mechanical properties.
The Crystallization: Final average crystal size result is calculated for each element. It is available for display after completion of a Fill or Fill+Pack analysis.
The Crystallization: Final average crystal size result may be displayed as a contour or shaded plot animated over the normalized thickness. The Animation plot is the default display.
This result also may be displayed as an XY plot or as a Path plot.
