The Surface Connectivity Diagnostic and Surface Boundaries Diagnostic tools are used to check for free or non-manifold surface edges in the model, and to ensure that all surfaces in the model have correct and valid boundaries. Some problems can be repaired in the Geometry or Mesh tab; other problems require you to check the model in the original CAD system.
