Squeezing node labels

The Global Merge tool can be used to eliminate unused node labels and renumber the nodes sequentially.

  1. Click Global Merge (Mesh tab > Mesh Repair panel > Global Merge).
  2. Enter a negative Merge tolerance value (mm). If you place a negative symbol before the default value, the Global Merge tool will simply squeeze the node labels. It will not perform any other global merge functions, such as merging duplicate nodes or bad elements.
  3. Click Apply. Unused node labels will be eliminated and nodes will be numbered sequentially.
