Hardware Acceleration

You can enable or disable hardware acceleration on the Graphics tab of the Options dialog.

When you enable hardware acceleration, Revit uses your system's graphics card, which can result in improved performance. The following graphic effects should work properly:

• realistic mode
• ambient occlusion
• surface transparency
• anti-aliasing

If you experience any undesirable graphic artifacts, you can disable hardware acceleration.

When you disable hardware acceleration, Revit uses a CPU-based graphics solution, as follows:

• Windows 7 and Windows 8: Revit use the Windows Advanced Rasterization Platform (WARP). It supports the graphic effects listed above, but performance is generally slower.
