Manage the Relationships of Elements

To ensure that the building model maintains relationships among elements, apply constraints. For example, you can specify that a door maintains a certain distance from a wall, that all windows remain equally spaced on a wall, or that 2 collinear walls should stay aligned with each other.

Apply constraints based on dimensions.

Place a dimension, and lock it in place to apply a constraint.

Apply constraints based on alignment.   Align elements (such as a wall with a reference line), and lock the alignment to create a constraint.
