You can define the following properties for stone materials on the Appearances tab in the Material Editor panel of the Material Browser dialog.

| Image File | Image to use to represent the stone’s surface. See Specifying an Image File for a Render Appearance. |
| Finish | Texture of the finished surface. |
| Finish Bumps | Bump pattern to use on the finished surface. To define bumps using an image, select Custom. See Specifying an Image File for a Render Appearance. |
| Bump Pattern | Additional bump pattern, superimposed on the Finish Bumps pattern. To define bumps using an image, select Custom. See Specifying an Image File for a Render Appearance. |
