Positioning the Fabric Sheet Lap-Splice

Lap-splice position defines the fabric sheet distribution stagger within the fabric boundary. Select the Lap-Splice Position in the Properties palette under the Construction section of the Structural Fabric Area.

The following lap-splice positions are available:
Name Description

Aligned

Fabric sheets are placed in rows and columns. All lap-splices in both directions lie on the same line.

Major Half-way Stagger

Fabric sheets are placed in rows; every other row is shifted by half the length of one fabric sheet with respect to the preceding row.

Major Passing Stagger

Fabric sheets are placed in rows; every row starts with a whole fabric sheet which is placed on the left and right side of the row alternately; the last fabric sheet in the row is cut to fit the fabric boundary.

Minor Half-way Stagger

Fabric sheets are placed in columns; every other row is shifted by half the length of one fabric sheet with respect to the preceding column.

Minor Passing Stagger

Fabric sheets are placed in columns; every row starts with a whole fabric sheet which is placed on the top and bottom side of the column alternately; the last fabric sheet in the column is cut to fit the fabric boundary.

Note: If you select all fabric positioning controls, the possibility to change the lap-splice position is disabled.
