Discerning the Ends of Columns, Beams, and Braces

In the Object Styles dialog you can specify different colors, line weights, or patterns for the beginning and end analytical model segments of columns, beams, or braces.

1. In the Project Browser, open an analytical plan view.
2. Click Manage tabSettings panel Object Styles.
3. Click the Analytical Model Objects tab in the Object Styles dialog.
4. Expand the applicable analytical element category.
5. Specify Line Color, Line weight, and Line Pattern for the Start Segment and End Segment of the analytical element (Analytical Columns will list Top Segment and Base Segment).
6. Click OK twice to accept and apply the color specifications.
7. Click Manage tab Settings panel Structural Settings.
8. Click the Analytical Model Settings tab.
9. Under Analytical Model Visibilty, select Differentiate ends of linear analytical elements.

In the following example, Start Segments and Top Segments were specified as red. End Segments and Base Segments were set to green.
