Open the Load Types dialog using one of the following methods:
- Click Loads > Load Types.
- Clicking

- From the layout system drop-down list, select LOADS.
Note: Depending on a load code you select and subnatures available for a given load case, this dialog may also include the Subnature field (next to the Nature field) as in the image below.
To define a new load case:
- Specify the nature of the load: dead, live, snow, wind or seismic. The load nature depends on the code you selected.
- Specify the subnature of the load (if available).
- Assign a load case number.
- Enter a case label. In the name of a combination cases can be represented by a number and by a shortened name of a case (label). By default, an abbreviated name for the load case is entered in the Label field.
- Enter the load case name.
- Click New. Starts the definition of a new load case. Each new load case is automatically assigned the next consecutive number that you can change later.
To define the next load case, click New and repeat the steps previously mentioned. The new load case is added to the load case list.
Use Delete and Delete All to delete the active load case or all cases from the load case list, respectively.
Also, you can change the parameters for a load case using Modify. To change them:
- Select a load case to be modified from the list of defined load cases.
- Change the number, name, or nature of the load case.
- Click Modify.
