Use Simulation CFD Results as Loads in Autodesk® Sim 360™

With the CFD Data Package, you can use temperature results computed by Autodesk® Simulation CFD as thermal loads in Autodesk® Sim 360™.

Export CFD Results

After the CFD simulation is complete, save a CFD Data Package:

  1. Open the Application menu by clicking the button in the top, left corner of the user interface.
  2. Click Export, and CFD Data Package.
  3. Select the results iteration or time step to include in the CFD data package. These are the results that will be used as boundary conditions in your structural simulation.
  4. Optionally, change the destination folder and file name of the data package file.
  5. Click Export to save the file.

Open CFD Results in Autodesk® Sim 360™

After opening the data package in Autodesk® Sim 360™, the Simulation CFD temperature results and mesh appear. Autodesk® Sim 360™ automatically assigns the temperature results as loads to the structural simulation. To run the thermal stress analysis, apply appropriate constraints, and run the simulation.
