no_difu_tensors

Summary: Control the formulation used for radial distributed resistance regions and PCB material devices that are not aligned with the Cartesian axes.

Flag:

no_difu_tensors A

A = 0: (default) Use tensor-based formulation (more accurate) for radial distributed resistance regions and non-Cartesian aligned PCB materials.

A = 1: Disable tensor-based formulation to use older method for radial distributed resistance regions.

A = 2: Disable tensor-based formulation to use older method for non-Cartesian aligned PCB materials.

A = 3: Disable tensor-based formulation to use older method for radial distributed resistance regions and non-Cartesian aligned PCB materials.

Description

In Simulation CFD 2014, a new formulation was introduced for computing flow through radially-shaped (cylindrical) distributed resistance regions. This replaces a method that did not always accurately predict the pressure drop through these devices, especially for low values of K. Additionally, this formulation improves the computed temperature distribution through PCB materials that are not aligned with a Cartesian axis.

This method is based on mathematical tensors, hence the name of the flag. You can use this flag to revert to the older formulation. This is useful for comparing results across product versions or if the new formulation produces unexpected results, and you want to compare with the older formulation.
