General Information Tab

Activate the command: Application Menu Options General Information tab, or Tools Options Application Options General Information tab.

The Loaded Components section of the General Information tab will display which components you currently have loaded on your system and also provides the version number and release date. This information is useful when you contact Technical Support, so you can let them know what versions of the software packages you are using.

The Toolbar Options section can be used to deactivate the default Ribbon Style interface, if you wish to use the legacy toolbars, and to customize the look and feel of all the toolbars.

Miscellaneous options section:

  • If the Show file dialog on startup check box is deactivated, the Open or New dialog box, which allows you to specify a new file or to open and existing one, will not appear automatically when you start Autodesk Simulation. Instead, use Open, New, or select a file from the Recent Documents list within the Application Menu ( ).
  • By default, a mini toolbar (MTB) pops up in the display area when certain commands are executed (such as, Setup Loads Pressure and Setup Constraints General Constraint). The MTB can be used to change the selection mode and the type of entity to be selected while the command dialog box is displayed. Deactivate the Use toolbar for selection option to prevent the appearance of the MTB.
  • By default, when a model created in an earlier version of Autodesk Simulation is opened, a warning will be displayed that indicates that the model will be updated to the newer version. Deactivate the Warn when updating file to newer version option to prevent this warning from appearing, or check it to re‑enable the warning if you have chosen the Do not show this message again option when previously opening an older model.
