Bill of Materials - Removing a Row

You can remove items from a BOM. For example, an assembly might exist in the CAD file for reference only, but it should not be represented as part of the BOM. Or, you might need to remove individual parts because you track and buy the assembly as a single item.

Items listed in the BOM can be removed by deleting the rows containing the items. When a row is removed from the BOM, the link to the item and links to all children of the item are removed. Removing a row for an assembly in the BOM removes the assembly row and all corresponding child rows.

The BOM can only be edited when it is in the tree view. You can not edit a BOM if it is displayed in the list view. Rows can only be removed from the top level of the BOM. To remove a row from a subassembly listed in the BOM, open the subassembly from the item master and remove the row from the BOM for the subassembly.
