View Custom Object Security

Examine custom object security settings through the context menu.

View the Security Settings for a Custom Object (Vault Professional)

1. Right-click on a custom object in the vault and then select Details.

   You can also access the Details dialog by selecting Details from the File menu.

2. In the Details dialog box, select the Security tab.

    You can review the following information on the Security tab:

   • Security Mode

     Indicates the security precedence for the custom object. The default setting is role-based security only. However, if security settings have been overridden, then the mode is set to System or overriden security and the permissions in the Access Control List (ACL) are used instead. If no permissions are defined in the ACL, then system security takes precedence.

   • Groups and Users and Their Permissions

     The ACL shows which groups and users are granted access to the selected custom object and its respective permissions.
