Thin Client - Configure Browser Settings

Before you access the thin client, make sure that your browser meets the requirements. 

Note: Vault Workgroup requires a Vault Office license to use the thin client. Vault Professional provides read-only access through the thin client by default. A Vault Office license is required for read-write access.

Internet Explorer 8 and 9

Allow Cookies

  1. In Internet Explorer, click Tools  Internet Options.
  2. In the Internet Options dialog , click the Privacy tab.
  3. Move the slider to select the setting that allows cookies. The Medium setting is acceptable because it restricts but does not completely block first-party cookies.

Enable ActiveX Controls

  1. In Internet Explorer, click Tools  Internet Options.
  2. On the Internet Options dialog , click the Security tab.
  3. On the ActiveX control settings, select Enable.
  4. If Autodesk Design Review has been installed but you still cannot view DWF files, ensure that Run ActiveX control and plug-ins is enabled by selecting Enable on the Run ActiveX control and plug-ins setting.

Allow any Web Site to Run Scripts and ActiveX Controls on Your Computer

  1. In Internet Explorer, click the Tools  Internet Options.
  2. Click the Advanced tab and then in the Settings list, scroll to the Security section.
  3. Select the Allow active content to run in files on My Computer check, and then click OK.

Allow Pop-up Windows

    Pop-up windows must be enabled for the thin client to work correctly.

  1. In Internet Explorer, click Tools  Internet Options.
  2. On the Internet Options dialog, click the Privacy tab.
  3. Select Disable on the Use Pop-up Blocker setting.

Mozilla Firefox 6

Allow Cookies

  1. In Firefox click Tools  Options.
  2. In the Options dialog, click the Privacy tab.
  3. Select Remember history.

Allow Any Web Site to Run Scripts on Your Computer

  1. In Firefox, click Tools  Options.
  2. In the Options dialog, click the Contents tab.
  3. Select Enable JavaScript, and then click OK.

Allow Pop-up Windows

    Pop-up windows must be enabled for the thin client to work correctly.

  1. In Firefox, click Tools  Options.
  2. In the Options dialog, click the Contents tab.
  3. Make sure that the Block pop-up windows check is not selected, and then click OK.

Google Chrome Latest Version

Allow Cookies

  1. In Chrome click Customize and Control Google Chrome  Options.
  2. In the Google Chrome Options dialog, click the Under the Hood tab.
  3. Select Allow all cookies by default, and then click Close.

Allow Pop-up Windows

    Pop-up windows must be enabled for the thin client to work correctly.

  1. In Chrome, click Customize and control Google Chrome  Options.
  2. In the Google Chrome Options dialog, click the Under the Hood tab.
  3. Select Show suggestions for navigation errors, and then click Close.
