Configure Item Lifecycle Security

Configure user permission for access to files associated to released items on the Configure Lifecycle Security dialog.

  1. Click Tools  Administration Vault Settings.
  2. In the Vault Settings dialog box, select the Items tab.
  3. In the Lifecycles section, click Security.
  4. Click the Apply Item security to related files check box if you want to apply the item's lifecycle security to associated files. This option applies only to files that are not a work in progress (that is, files in review, released, or obsolete).
  5. If you want to add a new user or group, click Add.
  6. If you want to delete a user or group, select the user or group and click Remove.
  7. Configure item lifecycle security by selecting a user and configuring read, modify, and delete permissions.
    Note: The last changes made to the Lifecycle Security Access Control List, whether from the Files tab or the Items tab, take precedence.
    Note: To allow other users or groups Modify and Delete privileges you must first uncheck those privileges for Everyone.
  8. Click OK to save the changes.
