Materials: Heat Sink

In this step, we assign Aluminum to several components (fan bracket, transformer, heat sink, and capacitors).

1. To start, hide the Air part by holding Ctrl and middle clicking on it:

 

2. Select the heat sink by left clicking on it.

 

3. Click Edit from the Materials context panel:

 

4. On the Materials quick edit dialog, select the material type:

  1. In the Type row, click in the right-side column.
  2. Select Solid.

 

5. From the Name menu, select Aluminum.

 

6. Click Apply.

 

What it should look like...

7. To verify that the aluminum material is properly assigned, check the Design Study Bar and the part coloring:

  1. On the Design Study bar, confirm the material assignment for the Aluminum part.
  2. The heat sink should be colored to correspond to the Aluminum color in the legend.
