View Options Tab

Activate the command: Application Menu Options View Options tab, or Tools Options Application Options View Options tab.

The Views settings templates section of the View Options tab will allow you to select either a Pre-defined or User-defined template to control the view direction mapping. This will determine how the named views (Front, Top, etc.) are defined.

Users will also have the option to create a custom User-defined template. This is done by clicking the Add Template button. You must then define a name for the new view. All custom templates can be found at the bottom of the list under User-defined Templates. By selecting a User-Defined template from the list, the View direction mapping section becomes active. Here you can select the orientations in which you would like to view your model. The options, such as XZ(-Y), indicate which plane to view (XZ in this example) and the direction from which to view (the -Y axis in this example).

Note: All 2D sketching and elements must continue to exist in the YZ plane. Furthermore, the Z axis remains the axis of rotation for 2D axisymmetric modeling.
