Using this option, you can define lintels above door or window openings, as well as above niches and recesses in the wall, in both 3D and 2D views.
To begin defining the lintel, open the Lintel Definition dialog from:
- Menu: Formwork Drawings > Define > Lintel
- Ribbon: ASD - Model > Elements > Lintel
- Toolbar: Define > Lintel
- Command line: RBCX_DEF_LINTEL.
You can define 2 lintel types:
-
solid lintel with a rectangular cross-section Select
to display the following options.
Specify geometry parameters:
a) The following can be defined in the Solid lintel field:
- Height - specify the height of the lintel cross-section
- Lintel width
- Material.
b) In the Definition of lintel length field, it is possible to define the lintel length in two ways, by indicating:
- Support depths - specify values for both sides of the door, window, recess, or niche. The lintel length is specified automatically based on geometry of the opening and a value of the support depth
- Total length of the lintel. Definition of lintel by giving its total length makes it possible to define identical lintels for openings of similar width faster.

Use this dialog to define parameters of a lintel cross-section. Specify the following parameters for each type of the lintel cross-section:
a) The following can be defined in the Arbitrary lintel field:
- Cross-section - click the Browse (...) button and make a selection in the Section list dialog
- Material
- Location (a lintel can be faced to one of the opening edges or positioned at the center); if positioned at the center, you can define an offset from axis
- Angle - select an available value (0, 90, 180 and 270).
b) In the Definition of lintel length field, it is possible to define the lintel length in two ways, by indicating:
- Support depths - specify values for both sides of the door, window, recess, or niche. The lintel length is specified automatically based on geometry of the opening and a value of the support depth
- Total length of the lintel. Definition of lintel by giving its total length makes it possible to define identical lintels for openings of similar width faster.
The lintel length is specified automatically based on geometry of the opening and a value of the support depth.
For Priority enter a value that defines the priority of interpenetration (cutting to fit) of structure elements that overlap with each other.
After you have specified lintel parameters, you can begin defining the lintel in elements of a structure model:
- Click
(Select), and in the drawing area, select objects (door or window openings, recesses, niches) above which lintels should be defined
- Click
(Inherit properties) to adopt parameters of a previously defined lintel.
