You can define the geometry of staircases.
To begin defining staircases, open the Staircase dialog from:
- Menu: Steel > Parametric structures > Staircase
- Ribbon: ASD - Model > Parametric structures > Staircase
- Toolbar: Parametric structures > Staircase
.
In the drawing area, click to specify the characteristic points of a staircase (definition of points P1, P2, and P3 as illustrated in the drawing below).
Use the options on the Staircase dialog to define geometry:
- Change height - click this to change the height of a staircase (enter the new value in the edit field)
- Generate lines used for definition of railings - if you select this, the software draws lines that are used to generate railings.
- Number of levels – this is evaluated from the distance of the points that are the basis for defining the staircase geometry. This is a read-only field that may change after you add or delete levels on the Staircase landings and flights of stairs tab.
- Define insertion point P1 along three directions (x, y, z).
- For Direction, select on which side of the longitudinal axis of a staircase the first flight of stairs should be located.
