In this exercise you'll create a still image of the model with and without ambient occlusion. You'll then create a high-quality rendering of the image.
Click Create Snapshot.
Camera Snapshot captures exactly what's in your view of the model.
Navigate to a location to save the image file.
Choose a folder that you can easily access without too many clicks.
Select Use Viewport Resolution.
Click Save and then locate and view the saved image file.
Open the Visual Effects panel and turn off Ambient Occlusion.
When ambient occlusion is on, surrounding objects throw soft shadows on their neighboring objects.
Take another snapshot and compare the two snapshots.
We'll use the still image with ambient occlusion for the rest of this exercise.
Click Render Model.
Render gives you a more photographic representation of the model.
While the model is loading, stretch the black render window so it's wide format.
Wait for the model to load and rendering to start. Note that the Date and Time settings are inactive once rendering has begun.
Click Stop Render.
Change the Time and Date settings to 17.30 and 10/1 (Oct 1).
Click Start Render.
Let the render process run for a minute or so, then click Stop Render.
Click Save Image. View the saved image file and compare it to the snapshots.
