To specify a location condition

  1. Open the Expression Editor based upon the desired use for the expression. See Use Expressions for more information on different types of expressions.
  2. Select a location condition from the Spatial category options in the Expression Elements menu.
Note: You can specify Disjoint, Intersects, Overlaps, Inside, or Within location conditions for a circular, rectangular, or polygonal area that you draw. See About Filtering By Location for more information.
  3. In the model, click once to specify the centre of the location condition area.
    • For rectangular and polygonal areas, click again to place each additional boundary point.
    • For a circular area, move your cursor away from the centre of the location point to increase the diameter.
  4. Double-click to finish the location condition area and return to the Expression Editor dialogue box. The location condition for the area you specified is inserted into the Expression Area.
Note: Don't edit the location condition in the Expression Area. Directly editing the location condition may invalidate the expression. Instead, delete the location condition from the expression and re-draw the spatial location condition.
  5. For help with any expression element, see Creating Expressions – Reference.

  6. Input any other desired expression elements into the Expression Area and click OK to apply the expression.
