To import roads

Import road data to add it to the current model. Configure imported road data to specify desired settings such as level offset and lanes forward/backward.

1. Follow the general import instructions.
2. On the Data Source Configuration screen, on the Common tab, map properties from the data source to the following:
   • Lanes Forward: The number of driving lanes to the right of the centre line.
   • Lanes Backward: The number of driving lanes to the left of the centre line.
   • Level Offset: Adds a value (in metres) to every z-co-ordinate of the geometry (alters the level of all roads).
   • Level Offset From/To: Controls the slope of roads by specifying level offsets for their start and end points separately.

Advanced Tips

The definition of "right" and "left" for Lanes Forward and Backward depends on the vertex order of the underlying polyline.

Level offsets are used in conjunction with the Draping settings on the Source tab. You can drape a feature on the terrain and then move it 5 metres below ground level by using a level offset of -5.
