A breakpoint is a symbol (point) you place in source code to indicate where you want a program to stop executing temporarily. When you run your code, Visual LISP proceeds normally until it encounters a breakpoint. At that point, Visual LISP suspends execution and waits for you to tell it what to do. It hasn't halted the program for good—it has placed it in a state of suspended animation.
