You can create a tool on a tool palette that executes a single command or a string of commands.
You can add frequently used commands to a tool palette by dragging tools from a toolbar (when the Customize dialog box is open) or from the Customize User Interface Editor (CUI) to a tool palette.
Once you add a command to a tool palette, you can click the tool to execute the command. For example, clicking a Save tool on a tool palette saves a drawing.
You can also create a tool that executes a string of commands or a script. In AutoCAD, a tool can execute an AutoLISP ® routine or VBA macro (not available in AutoCAD LT).
