Use this dialog box to specify settings for exporting to an AutoCAD® DWG file or a MicroStation® DGN file.
-
Export File Type
- Specifies whether to export to AutoCAD DWG or MicroStation DGN. The settings available in the dialog box are different depending on the Export File Type you select. If you select MicroStation DGN as the export file type, the settings available are different depending on whether you have MicroStation installed or not.
Settings
AutoCAD DWG Settings
This setting is available in the dialog box when AutoCAD DWG is selected in the Export File Type field.
-
DWG File Version
- Specifies the AutoCAD DWG version to which the file will be exported.
MicroStation DGN Settings - Without MicroStation Installed
These settings are available in the dialog box when MicroStation DGN is selected in the Export File Type field, but MicroStation is not installed.
-
DGN File Version
- Specifies the version of the MicroStation DGN file version to which the file will be exported. By default, version V8 is selected.
-
Conversion Units
- Specifies which of the working units in the seed file to convert the DWG units to, either Master units or Sub units.
-
Seed File
- Specifies the seed file. The seed file may also contain settings that are not present in the source DWG file; these settings will be inherited by the exported DGN file.
Note: While either 2D or 3D seed files are available for selection, it is recommended that you use a 3D seed file. Using a 2D seed file may cause the export to fail.
-
Mapping Setup
- Specifies the method by which data from the DWG (such as layers, linetypes, and lineweights) is mapped to DGN.
-
Create/Edit Mapping Setup
- Creates or edits mapping setups.
MicroStation DGN Settings - With MicroStation Installed
These settings are available in the dialog box when MicroStation DGN is selected in the Export File Type field, and MicroStation is installed.
-
-
Use Remapping File
- Specifies whether to use a remapping file for mapping AutoCAD object properties to MicroStation DGN properties. Select the check box and then select a predefined MicroStation mapping file (.csv file) to apply automatic mapping to DGN levels, linetypes, lineweights, and colors. This option requires that the MS_DWGFONTPATH is set in the MicroStation environment.
-
AutoCAD Color Book
- If you are using an AutoCAD color book, this setting specifies a how the color book will be remapped when the drawing is exported to DGN.
- Do Not Remap (Use Current Color Book Color): Does not remap the color book.
- Remap to AutoCAD Color Index: Remaps the current color book colors to the AutoCAD color index colors. This enables the remapping file that is specified above to map the AutoCAD colors to the MicroStation colors.
- Use RGB Color: Remaps the current color book colors to their equivalent RGB colors.
-
AutoCAD Drawing Standards (DWS) File
- Specifies whether to use a DWS file. Select the check box and then select the DWS file to use. By default, standards files are located in C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\C3D <version>\enu\Data\Layer Standards.
-
Replace ByLayer Properties With Layer Properties
- If an object property is defined as ByLayer, the setting that is assigned to the layer is assigned to the property. For example, if a line color is set to ByLayer, and the layer color is red, then the line will be red in the exported DGN file.
