To Create Sliced Solids of Pipe Networks in Section View

  1. Open a drawing that contains a pipe network that you want to display in section views.
  2. In the Toolspace Settings tree, right-click the pipe style you want to use and click Edit. In the Pipe Style dialog box, edit the pipe style as follows:
    • In the Pipe Style dialog box, on the Section tab, select Display As Sliced Pipe.
    • In the Pipe Style dialog box, on the Display tab, select Section from the View Direction list. The following options are available for displaying the pipe in section view: Sliced Solid Pipe Walls and Sliced Solid Pipe Hatch. Configure the options for these two display components as desired. At least one of them must be configured as visible in order to view the sliced solid in section view. You can also specify a hatch pattern for sliced solid pipes.
    • Click OK to close the dialog box.
  3. In the Toolspace Settings tree, right-click the structure style you want to use and click Edit. In the Structure Style dialog box, edit the structure style as follows:
    • In the Structure Style dialog box, on the Section tab, select Sliced Section.
    • In the Structure Style dialog box, on the Display tab, select Section from the View Direction list. Ensure that the Structure component type is visible.
    • Click OK to close the dialog box.
  4. On the Home tab, on the Profile & Section Views panel, click Sample Lines and create one or more sample lines that cross the pipe network.
  5. On the Home tab, on the Profile & Section Views panel, use the Create Multiple Views or Create Section View command on the Section Views menu to create section views to display the sections.
