To Edit Cant Design Criteria on Curves

You can use the Cant Curve Manager dialog box to view and edit the criteria that is used to calculate cant on alignment curves.

Note: When you are working in the Cant Curve Manager dialog box or the Cant Tabular Editor, the curve you select is highlighted in the drawing.

To view and edit cant criteria on alignment curves

  1. Select an alignment in the drawing.
  2. Click Rail Alignment tabModify panelCant drop-downCalculate/Edit Cant.
    Note: The first time you use the Calculate/Edit Cant command on an alignment that contains no cant data, a cant curve is calculated for each curve (circular arc) in the alignment. A task dialog is displayed with the following options:
    • Calculate Cant Now - Choose this option to launch the Cant Calculation wizard.
    • Open The Cant Curve Manager - Choose this option to open the Cant Curve Manager, where you can view curve data.

    After the initial cant calculation, the Calculate/Edit Cant command automatically displays the Cant Curve Manager.

  3. Click Open the Cant Curve Manager.
  4. In the Cant Curve Manager dialog box, use the Previous and Next buttons to navigate through each alignment curve, or select a curve from the Cant Curve list. The selected curve is highlighted in the drawing.
  5. Expand the Cant Criteria node and make any necessary changes.

    The Cant Status changes to Out Of Date.

  6. Recalculate cant:
    • Click Recalculate to recalculate cant on all out of date curves using the criteria specified in the Cant Curve Manager. This option is displayed when a change is made to the Cant Criteria or design speed.
    • Click Cant Wizard to specify cant criteria for one curve, a selection of curves, or the entire alignment.
