Filling Animation

View an animation of how the molten plastic will fill the metal injection mold or a realistic impression of how the finished part will look.

Show Filling Animation

Understanding how the molten plastic fills the metal injection mold helps with the selection of appropriate injection locations.

Click Home tab > Display panel > Show Filling Animation.

The Animation tab appears and the fill animation is played.

Ideally, all extremities of the part should fill at the same time. If an extremity of the part fills before the rest of the part, extra material can be compressed in this area. This is called over-packing and can cause a range of problems including warpage, non-uniform shrinkage, increased part weight and non-uniform density throughout the part. To achieve a balanced flow, move or add injection locations.

To help investigate the filling of the part, the Animation tab has the following elements.

Play
Starts the animation.
Pause
Pauses the animation at the selected point in time. This can be useful when viewing the formation of weld lines.
Stop
Stops the animation and returns focus to the CAD workspace.
Animation loop
Continuously repeats the animation.
Animation time line
To view a specific animation frame, click on the animation time line and the selected frame is shown on the model.
Finish Animation
The Animation tab closes and the fill pattern is removed from the model.
