Export Data Using Material Flow
Export Factory Layout Data as an XML file
You can export your factory layout data via an XML file. You can then convert the XML file to other formats such as HTML or Excel spreadsheet as necessary.
To export a DWG factory layout data to XML:
- With a DWG factory layout open, on the Factory tab, in the Material Flow panel, click the down arrow to expose the drop-down menu and select Export Data
. Note: The station asset tag serves as a unique identifier and is required for export. If the tag is unassigned or not unique, a message alerts you to the condition and gives you the option to automatically assign a unique tag. Alternatively, cancel the export and assign tags manually.
- In the Export Data dialog box, specify the file name.
- Click Save.
Creating an Excel Spreadsheet from an XML file
To create a spreadsheet file from an XML file (requires Excel 2003 or newer version):
- In Excel, click File > New.
- In the Available Templates section, click My Templates.
- Select Factory.xlt and click OK.
To import XML data into the spreadsheet you need to display the Developer tab. If you need help in displaying the tab, see the following article:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-help/show-the-developer-tab-or-run-in-developer-mode-HA010173052.aspx
- On the Developer tab, in the XML panel, click Import.
- Navigate to and select the XML file. Click Open.
- Save the file.
