The Surveying tool is configured with a list of Surveying rules that are user defined. These rules dictate how the conversion will take effect, whether this be a like for like conversion or the use of multiple fittings to convert single items into many. (E.g. Breeches Piece into 2x 90 degree bends).
Within the root of the installation directory, there is an ESTRULES.cfg file that is used to configure the conversions. The following code format must be adhered to in order for the conversions to be successful.
All installations should come with an estrules.cfg and show examples of each conversion rules for each fitting.
The conversions take place when the original ESJ Estimate is loaded and by going to the File > Survey option. The software asks for the Manufacturing drawing in which a selection of the MAJ file is required for converting.
The software compares the MAJ Manufacturing file and converts the items in the drawing to equal rates of items already detailed in the quotation. New entries will be taken off using the same overhead percentages that exist in the Tender database.
