It may be necessary to show hidden detail in CADmep for general arrangement viewing or for the purpose of plotting installation drawings.

Procedure to show hidden detail in Model space

  1. Check in the Edit Main Database, CADmep TAB that Display Hidden Detail as Dashed Linetype is checked.
  2. Type the HIDE command to show hidden detail - type REGEN command to exit.
  3. Adjust the linetype scale if necessary - LTSCALE command.

Procedure to show hidden detail in Paper space

  1. Check in the Edit Main Database, CadDuct Solids BSS TAB tha t Display Hidden Detail as Dashed Linetype is checked.
  2. Left Click the Paper space Viewport window, once highlighted Right click and goto Properties.
  3. In the Viewport Properties dialogue box make sure the Shade plot option is set to Hidden.
  4. View the drawing via Plot Preview.
  5. Adjust the linetype scale if necessary - LTSCALE command.

Hide Precision

Controls the accuracy of hides and shades. Hides can be calculated in double precision or single precision. Setting HIDEPRECISION command to <1> produces more accurate hides by using double precision, but this setting also uses more memory and can affect performance, especially when hiding solids.

Q. I type the HIDE command and hidden line detail does not appear.

A. 1. Check Hidden Detail layer is not frozen or turned off.

A. 2. Check in Edit Services Database that CAD Types TAB that Global layers are checked for Hidden detail.

A. 3. Check there are no clipping plains active, use the DVIEW command.
