Catalogue items are essentially standard fittings that have had there dimensions and other options pre-set. If a part is repeated on a regular basis it may be wise to create a Catalogue Part. The following topic illustrates how this can be done and how the Catalogue part can be used.
Creating a Catalogue Item
- To make a standard pattern into a catalogue item, right-click on the pattern icon, in the relevant item folder and select Create Catalogue Item from the drop-down menu that appears.
- The Item Takeoff screen will now be visible.
This screen is very similar to the normal pattern takeoff screen, but the mode indicator on the bottom left of the screen shows that the Creating Catalogue Item process has been initiated:
- Enter the relevant dimensions and options and click Accept.
- The Save Item File As window will appear. This gives the user the chance to save the Catalogue part to a specific item folder and to give it a specific name.
Adding a Catalogue part to a job
Once the Catalogue part has been created it is possible to add it to a job.
- Double click on the Catalogue part.
- The Add Items dialogue box will appear.
- Enter the different information option as required and click OK.
- The catalogue part will now be added to the job as normal.
