Set data import options

To import a file-based data source, InfraWorks 360 must first convert incoming file formats into a usable format. By default, this conversion is processed in the cloud. Use Application Options to enable Local Import for support formats.

  • Data sources that can be imported using Cloud or Local import display in the Add File Data Source menu within the Data Sources panel.
  • Local import-only data source types display .

To use Local import

  1. Open InfraWorks 360. Click to open the Application Options dialog box.
  2. Click the Data Import tab.
  3. Checkmark the Local Import options you want.
    • Civil 3D-based Local Import: See About Exchanging Data with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
    • Navisworks-based Local Import: Components such as Autodesk Navisworks Manage 2015 64-bit or Navisworks Simulate 2015 64-bit are required. To enable Local Import after you have installed Navisworks, you may have to run InfraWorks 360 as an Administrator, which will copy three plugin files to the local Navisworks directory.

To run InfraWorks as an administrator

  1. Close InfraWorks 360.
  2. Right-click on the InfraWorks 360 application icon shortcut from your computer desktop.
  3. Click Run as Administrator from the right-click context menu.
  4. Open InfraWorks 360 and enable Local Import.
