To import roads

Import road data to add it to the current model. Configure imported road data to specify desired settings such as elevation offset, and lanes forward/backward.

  1. Follow the general import instructions.
  2. On the Data Source Configuration screen, on the Common tab, map properties from the data source to the following:
    • Lanes Forward: The number of driving lanes to the right of the center line.
    • Lanes Backward: The number of driving lanes to the left of the center line.
    • Elevation Offset: Adds a value (in meters) to every z-coordinate of the geometry (alters the elevation of all roads).
    • Elevation Offset From/To: Controls the slope of roads by specifying elevation offsets for their start and end points separately.

Advanced Tips

The definition of "right" and "left" for Lanes Forward and Backward depends on the vertex order of the underlying polyline.

Elevation offsets are used in conjunction with the Draping settings on the Source tab. You can drape a feature on the terrain and then move it 5 meters below ground level by using an elevation offset of -5.

You can use an expression to map a property from the data store to an attribute. See Use Expressions.
