Install the Mudbox Help

If you prefer to have the English or localized versions of the Mudbox Help available on your OS.

If you prefer to have the English or localized versions of the Mudbox Help available on your OS within the Mudbox software product, you need to install the Help and change the default Help preference setting.

Prepare to install the Mudbox Help

Before you install the Mudbox Help, ensure that you do the following:

Install the Mudbox Help in a shared location

You can install the Mudbox Help on a shared location, such as internal network or web server, so that it can be accessed by multiple users. You can then set the Mudbox Help preferences on individual systems to access the Help from the shared location.

Note: To use the Mudbox Help from a shared location, you must copy the docs directory to a shared location. Individual systems can then set their Help preferences so they access the Help from this location.

When choosing a shared location, ensure that the directory path to the Mudbox Help does the following:

Change the default Mudbox Help preference setting

To change the default Help preference settings, you need to launch Mudbox and change the setting within Mudbox.

To change the Help preference setting:

  1. Start Mudbox.
  2. Select Windows > Preferences.

    The Preferences window appears.

  3. Expand the Help section.
  4. In the Help Location, select the language for the Help.
  5. Select Custom, and enter the path where you copied the Help.
  6. Click OK to exit the Preferences window.

    The Mudbox 2015 Help is now available from the Help, F1, and context sensitive help menus.
