- Create a part, or open an existing part. Click 3D Model tab Sketch panel Create 2D Sketch . Then click the planar face or work plane to set the sketch plane.
- On the Sketch tab, use commands to create a profile to emboss or engrave.
- Click Sketch tab Create Panel Text and create sketch text.
- Click sketch commands and create sketch geometry.
Right-click, and click Done to quit creating the profile. Then right-click, and click Finish Sketch.
- On the ribbon, click 3D Model tab Create panel Emboss .
- Click Profile, and select one or more profiles (sketch geometry or text) to emboss or engrave.
- Click Emboss from Face, Engrave from Face, or Emboss/Engrave from Plane.
For Emboss from Face or Engrave from Face, set the following:
- Specify the depth.
- Click Wrap to Face to wrap the profile on a curved face. Clear the checkbox to project the image without wrapping.
- To set the direction, click Flip.
For Emboss/Engrave from Plane, set the following:
- Specify the degree of taper.
- Click Flip to set the direction.
- Click Color.
- In the Color dialog box, in the drop-down list, scroll to or type the first letter to locate the desired color, then click OK.
- Click OK.
Tip: Click
3D Model tab Create panel Emboss to apply a bitmap image to a model face.
Note: If you have difficulty selecting sketch geometry, turn off automatic projection options.
- Click Options.
- In the Application Options dialog box, Sketch tab, clear the check marks for Autoproject edges during curve creation, and Automatic reference edges for new sketch.
