Arrange entire part or body in rectangular pattern

1. On the ribbon, click 3D Model tab Pattern panel Rectangular .
2. In the Rectangular Pattern dialog box, select Pattern a solid.
3. If needed, click Include Work/Surface Features. In the graphics window or in the model browser, select work or surface features to arrange in a pattern.
4. If there are multiple solid bodies in the file, the Solid selection arrow is available. Select the body (only one) to include in the pattern.
5. Select Join to pattern the body as a single unified body.

   or

   Select Create new bodies, and to create a pattern consisting of individual solid bodies, select a body.

6. Click the path selector. Then, indicate the direction of the column. Select a surface or model body edge, work axis, line, arc, spline, planar face, work plane, or trimmed ellipse. To change the column direction, click Flip.
   Note: When you select a work plane or planar face, the normal of the plane is the linear direction.
7. Enter the count (number of occurrences) for the column, and in the drop-down list, specify the pattern length:
   • Spacing Enter distance between features.
   • Total distance Enter distance of the column.
   • Curve length Automatically enter length of selected curve.
8. If the pattern has multiple rows, Click Direction 2, and set the row direction, count, and spacing, distance, or curve length.
9. To distribute the pattern occurrences on both sides of the original, select Midplane.
   Note: When Midplane is selected and there is an even number of pattern occurrences, Flip specifies which side gets the extra column.
10. Click More to set a start point for one or both rows, and Orientation Method:
    • If appropriate, click Start, and then click a point on the path to indicate the start of one or both columns. If path is a closed loop, a start point is required.
    • In Compute, choose Optimized to create optimized pattern, or Identical to create identical features.
    • To orient all features the same as the first selected, in Orientation, select Identical. Or, to specify which path controls the rotation of pattern features, select Direction 1, or Direction 2. .
