Create Freeform Cylinder

Defines the attributes of a cylindrical body you create by adding depth to a circular region.

  1. On the ribbon, click 3d Model tab Freeform panel Cylinder . If necessary, click the drop-down menu to access Cylinder.
  2. Click a work plane, planar face or 2D sketch.
  3. Click in the graphics window to specify the base point of the cylinder.
  4. Change and adjust the shape by:
    • Using the manipulators to adjust the radius and height.
    • Changing the values for radius and height in the input fields.
    • Changing the number of faces in the in the input fields. The more faces you add, the more control you have to manipulate the shape.
  5. Add symmetry in the X, Y, and Z axis by selecting the respective checkbox in the Cylinder dialog box.
  6. Change the size and direction by:
    • Selecting and moving the arrows in the graphics window.
    • Change the direction from single to both or from both to single direction by selecting the appropriate direction arrow in the Cylinder dialog box.
  7. Click OK.
